Pink Sapphire Ring
This ring was handmade by me in my workshop in Brussels. The pink sapphire in the centre of the ring, has slightly more purple tones, so to enhance its colour and sparkle, I set two pink sapphires on either side. The cushion-cut pink sapphire is 0,79ct.
Responsible Mining
Although all three pink sapphires come from Ilakaka in Madagascar, they are supplied by two different gemstone dealers.
The centre pink sapphire is from Miadana, a husband and wife team. She is a German gemologist and he is a Malagasy ex-miner from Ilakaka, and now a buyer and exporter for this community.
The two smaller pink sapphires were supplied by Wenncik-Lefèvre, a Danish company that supports the Ilakaka community.
As for the gold, it is Fairmined eco gold which comes from the Fairmined-certified Oro Puno mine in Peru. In 2022 I was fortunate enough to visit this mine and meet the miners who mine my gold.
