I’m delighted to take part in the Biennale Cultuurvuur at the enchanting Botanical Gardens of Meise. This year’s theme, “The Chemistry of Light”, resonates deeply with my work — light revealing form, fire transforming matter, and alchemy giving birth to jewellery. Set amidst nature’s quiet brilliance, this exhibition brings together artists whose creations echo the delicate, transformative power of light. It’s a joy to share my pieces in such a luminous setting.

I am trilled to annouce that I have been invited by the Goldsmiths’ Centre to give a presentation. It is a live session only, so I hope your are able to join me in London at The Goldsmiths’ Centre.
The presentation is my take on recycled versus mined gold. I look at the differences and how both can coexhist. Discussing the pro’s and con’s the use of language and terminology.
This is a large and comple subject and I hope I have managed to touch on the subject matter to give foud for thought, as I only had about 40 minutes and a Q&A after.

European Craft Days | With Heart and Soul

I’m delighted to share a special moment in my journey as a designer-goldsmith: a recent conversation for the British Academy of Jewellery podcast with Dr Sofie Boons.
It was a pleasure to reflect on my work, the materials I use, and the experiences that have shaped my practice over the years.
During our conversation, we discussed craftsmanship, materials and some of the questions surrounding the jewellery industry. I also shared experiences from my work with Fairmined precious metals and from meeting mining communities in different parts of the world.

Reciprocity Jewels
I’m delighted to take part in the fourth edition of Reciprocity Jewels, a collaborative exhibition and trunk show uniting a group of international jewellery designers who share a commitment to responsible sourcing and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Each of us presents a capsule collection created in gold and silver, sourced through a network of Peruvian women artisanal miners working mercury-free in the Amazon region.
Running for six weeks and coinciding with the Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference, this exhibition celebrates connection — between maker, material, and community — through jewellery that tells a story of respect, transparency, and reciprocity.

The pieces on display were first exhibited during Venice Design Week, and now return home to Brussels for a new chapter.
For this exhibition, titled “Integrity”, I’m entering into a creative dialogue with artist Si Bollé (Sylvia Bollé) — a beautiful and thought-provoking exchange between two artistic practices.

Ecodynamic Enterprise Label
On April 24, I had the honour of receiving my Label Entreprise Ecodynamique / Ecodynamische Onderneming from Alain Maron, Minister for the Cabinet of the Brussels-Capital Region, and Barbara Trachte, State Secretary for Economic Transition of the Brussels-Capital Government.
The ceremony was hosted in the beautiful visitbrussels BIP building. They also received their ecodynamic label that day. It was a great day allround, with various Brussels businesses, such as the business centre where I have my workshop Centre Dansaert Centrum – Centre d’entreprises, and Never Touch The Red Button (who also received their Ecodynamis label), to name a few.
The candidates applying for the label received support from the 21SOLUTIONS team, who provide a continuous bilingual helpdesk and offer support to organisations involved in obtaining the Ecodynamic Enterprise Label, especially on their environmental management (compliance with regulations, monitoring of performance indicators, employee involvement, application of good practices, etc.) and on all environmental aspects: rational use of energy, waste management, sustainable mobility, green purchases.
Eeuwen Zilver smeden in Lier
I’m excited to announce that I have been exceptionally asked to participate in the city museum of Lier.
Their next exhibition is “Silversmithing in Lier through the centuries”.
I say exceptionally, as they only support local jewellers and silversmiths, but on this occasion, they have asked me to talk about the importance of Fairmined silver in jewellery on an audio recording.

Reciprocity Exhibition
I am thrilled to participate in the Reciprocity Exhibition in New York from November 19th to November 22nd, 2024.
The exhibition brought together artists and makers from around the world to share their approaches to contemporary jewellery and craft. It was an opportunity to present my work alongside other international jewellery designers and to exchange ideas through the exhibition programme.
I was delighted to showcase my jewellery and connect with visitors and fellow makers in New York.
Talk Cycle: Sustainable Art Practices

I’m delighted to be part of the Talk Cycle: Sustainable Art Practices, organised during Brussels Jewellery Week.
The conversation brought together jewellery professionals and makers to discuss different approaches to materials, craftsmanship and the way we work within the jewellery industry.
I shared my experience as a goldsmith-designer, including my work with Fairmined precious metals, remodelling existing jewellery and learning about mining communities through my travels.
It was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow professionals and to discuss some of the questions that shape my work.

Venice Design Week
✨ Exciting News! ✨
I’m thrilled to announce that my jewellery will be showcased at the I Don’t Shine contemporary jewellery exhibition, part of Venice Design Week 2024! This exhibition brings together incredible international talent to celebrate the artistry of contemporary jewellery design, and I’m honoured to be a part of it.
The exhibition runs from October 11th to November 23th and from December 6th to January 8th, coinciding with the final month of the Venice Biennale—so it’s the perfect time to visit! If you’re in Venice, I’d love for you to experience my work in this extraordinary setting.
Diamonds for Peace expedition to Liberia
As a goldsmith I am very aware of the negative impact my industry has on the miners and the environment.
As a goldsmith who believes everyone has the right to earn a descent living, this includes the miners who supply my raw materials.
This is why I am a corporate support of Diamonds for Peace.
I was thrilled to have a chance to accompany them on a trip to the 3 mining communities they work with.

Brussels Jewellery Week
I’m excited to announce that I will be showcasing my brand-new Fairmined Jewellery collection at the 2nd Brussels Jewellery Week, running for five days at the end of April.
As part of the BE.Tour in the City, my jewellery studio will be open to visitors, and I’d love for you to stop by. This year is extra special as I celebrate 25 years in the jewellery business, so I’ll be marking the occasion with a glass of bubbly for everyone who joins!

Craftsmanship Day
In November I am participating in the Day of the Craftsmen.
This event is once a year on a Sunday when craftspeople all over Belgium open their studio/workshop doors to the general public.

Fairmined expedition to Colombia
We are delighted to announce our next trip to the Fairmined mines!
I was delighted to join a group of 20 jewellers from around the world on a Fairmined expedition to Colombia.
The trip gave us the opportunity to visit artisanal mining organisations and learn more about how gold is extracted under the Fairmined Standard.
During the expedition, we met miners and learned about the mining organisations, their work and the communities connected to them.
The experience gave me the opportunity to see aspects of the Fairmined Standard in practice and to learn more about the people and places behind the gold I work with.
Open Studio Days
In May I am participating in the Open Studio Days. It is only one weekend where craftspeople and artists all over Flandres open their studio/workshop doors to the general public.
I will only be open on Saturday May 6 from 14:00 until 22:00

Fairmined Connect

Brussels Jewellery Week
First time ever! A Brussels Jewelry Week event, with an exhibition “In Fieri” of National and International Jewellers.
There will also be a jewelry route, with jewelry galleries and workshops open to the public.
My workshop will also be featured on the Jewelry route. You will be able to visit my workshop from Friday 29th April until Saturday 7th May.

Fairmined expedition to Peru
In 2022, I had the opportunity to travel to Peru to visit Fairmined mining organisations and meet some of the people behind the gold I work with.
During the trip, I visited CECOMIP, Oro Puno and Cruz Pata. I met miners and saw aspects of the mining process first-hand, while learning more about the work taking place within the mining organisations and the communities connected to them.
One of the things that particularly stayed with me was seeing how water used during the mining process is cleaned and reused. I also saw areas where mining had taken place being restored by replacing the earth and replanting vegetation.
Meeting the people behind the gold and seeing some of the processes for myself gave me a much more personal understanding of the Fairmined Standard and the gold I work with.
I visited all three of these mines during my Fairmined Peru trip.

#Fairmined100Challenge
Jewellery brands come together for the Fairmined 100 Challenge, an initiative inviting brands in the gold industry to include Fairmined metals in their collections and contribute to the goal of 100 Fairmined collections.
The campaign benefits small-scale miners, a sector that employs more than 20 million people worldwide.
Traceability, a story of origin, and a positive impact are some of the benefits for the brands who decide to make collections with Fairmined gold.
The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and its Fairmined initiative announce the launch of its most recent campaign, “The Fairmined 100 challenge”, calling the jewelry and numismatic industries to reach the goal of creating one hundred new collections made with Fairmined metals before August 31st, 2022, contributing to generating a positive impact in the artisanal and small-scale mining sector.
Brussels House Milan
As part of its activities, hub.brussels has developed this project in partnership with visit.brussels.
The objective of the Brussels House is to represent Brussels’ craftsmanship and artisanal expertise abroad.
The first Brussels House will be located in Milan and will be inaugurated on 2 February 2023.

Day of the craftsmen
This year I will be opening my doors, by appointment only, to the general public to visit my workshop and give talks about working in Fairmined gold and what that entails.

Pure Earth Benefit Bash
Proud to support Pure Earth and its work with artisanal and small-scale gold mining communities around the world, including efforts to reduce mercury pollution.
For this event, I handmade a pendant in Fairmined gold and set it with a rough, tumbled blue-yellow sapphire donated by Capricorn Gems. The pendant was auctioned to raise funds for Pure Earth.
The event brought together more than 40 jewellery designers to raise awareness of mercury use in artisanal and small-scale gold mining and the work being done to address mercury pollution.
Mubri International Exhibit
The international Jeweller’s association is hosting a dual virtual and live Jewellery Exhibition in September this year.
My latest ring design in Fairmined Eco gold and set with a sphene and pink sapphires has been chosen to participate in the virtual exhibition
Exhibiton Hotel Hubert
For one year Hotel Hubert has collaborated with Belgian Designers to exhibit for one month in their hotel lobby.
A collection of my Fairmined silver jewellery will be on display and available for purchase during the month of December 2021
I have designed new pieces of jewellery alongside some of my statement pieces with will all be made in Fairmined silver, especially for the Hotel Hubert exhibion.

This 3-day event, at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, will be home to professionals from traditional handmade crafts, ranging from as gold & silversmiths, ceramicists, shoe designers and wood workers.

Day of the Craftsmen
Once a year, craftsmen throughout Belgium open their workshop doors to the public. During this event, the public can view demonstrations, talks or just watch craftsmen at work. An opportunity to view their work, and buy handmade products, you may even find an original Christmas gift.

Brussels Design September is celebrating its 10th Anniversary! Heritage Day Flanders
Once a year the Flanders opens its buildings to the public. This year, the happening is being held on the weekend of car-free Sunday in the cities… what a wonderful way to wander around the city of Brussels and visit some of these buildings.
This year the theme of the Heritage day Flanders is “workshops and factories” The Centre Dansaert, where Saskia Shutt has her workshop is open with guided tours in Dutch & French.
