#Fairmined100Challenge
JEWELRY BRANDS COME TOGETHER TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY IN THE “THE FAIRMINED 100 CHALLENGE”
The Fairmined 100 challenge invites brands in the gold industry to strengthen their commitment to sustainability by including fairmined metals in their collections to achieve the milestone of 100 fairmined collections and I am proud to be a part of this challenge.
The campaign benefits small-scale miners, a sector that employs more than 20 million people worldwide.
Traceability, a story of origin, and a positive impact are some of the benefits for the brands who decide to make collections with Fairmined gold.
The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and its Fairmined initiative announce the launch of its most recent campaign, “The Fairmined 100 challenge”, calling the jewelry and numismatic industries to reach the goal of creating one hundred new collections made with Fairmined metals before August 31st, 2022, contributing to generating a positive impact in the artisanal and small-scale mining sector.

Pure Earth Benefit Bash
Proud to support PureEarthNow in their mission to #SolvePollution, including their work with artisanal and small-scale gold miners around the world, to prevent mercury pollution and restore degraded Amazon Rainforest.
For this, I have handmade a pendant in Fairmined Eco gold (the pendant in the image above) and set it with a rough tumbled bluey-yellow sapphire donated by Capricorn Gems. This pendant is to be auctioned off to raise money for Pure Earth.
Thank you, PureEarthNow, for bringing together over 40 designers to help raise awareness about “healthy gold” mined without the use of toxic mercury to #SolvePollution and save lives. I am glad to be part of the solution.
I am happy to join PureEarthNow on their mission to raise awareness of the jewellery industry’s commitment to supporting responsible sourcing of artisanal and small-scale gold, mined without toxic mercury. Together we can #SolvePollution.

2020
World News
For the first quarter of 2020 I have no exhibitions planned.
It is also the first introduction to the coronavirus, as the world watches in astonishment how China has been quarantined.
Meanwhile, in February, I am attending the biggest jewellery trade show in Europe. Inhorgenta is like a playground for jewellers, where we can see all the latest technology on display and demonstration of machinery, the packaging wholesalers and diamond & gemstone dealers.
This year there is a big focus on sustainability in the jewellery industry, and that is where my heart lies.
I am looking forward to discovering responsibly and ethically sourced gemstones dealers.
Belgium is Quarantined
The coronavirus is spreading around the world and it has hit hard in certain European countries.
On March 18th Belgium went into quarantine… Shops closed, streets emptied… everything came to a complete standstill. My workshop is closed until further notice, but you can still contact me via email or by phone, as my workshop number has been forwarded to my home.
The jewellery industry has come to a standstill, raw materials is hard to come by as mines are closed and transport has also come to a halt.
May 11 sees a prudent and slow re-opening of shops, including the re-opening of my workshop.
Masks are a must, but staying home is still highly advised.
Corona-times
Due to the continued coronavirus legislations in Belgium, I have no exhibitions planned for July, August or September
Masks are compulsory on entering a public building and social distancing is always applicable.
However, my workshop is open by appointment and I will gladly receive you to discuss your jewellery ideas
Masks are a must, but staying home is still highly advised.
