Sunday was a very successful day despite the minus temperature and the icy roads… People, all over the country, braved the cold and visited the open workshops and studios of the participating craftsmen.
My workshop was bustling with visitors and enthusiasts… I even had a fellow jeweller come and chat to me and see how I work and what I do, personally, I thought it was quite a compliment that he came to see me work and I am now a bit gutted that the demonstrations I provided were pretty basic. Although, if I think about it, giving more intricate and advanced demonstrations with 10to 15 people crowding around you to watch what you are doing, would be very difficult to concentrate on the work at hand.
My fellow designer, shoemaker, Natalie van Lijsebettens, also had an incredibly busy day on Sunday and she was also visited by Atv, the local Antwerp tv station! She was interviewed for the local news that evening…
I hope that people enjoy visiting my workshop and will venture back for commissions. There were various people who tried on my jewellery that I had on display in my workshop.
