Pink sapphires
Most of us are familiar with the cornflower blue sapphires. But do you know that sapphires come in an array of colours and bi-colours? Pink sapphires also occur naturally.
What is the difference between Fairmined and Fairmined Eco Gold?
A non-profit organatisation. Supporting local artisanal small-scale mining. Fairmined eco gold comes from certified Fairmined mines who do not use toxic chemicals like mercury or cyanide. In Fairmined mining, there is still minimal use of cyanide during the extraction process. This is because the Fairmined eco gold comes from alluvial (open sky) mining and the Fairmined gold comes from mines underground mining. Fairmined support the rehabilitation of the native eco-systems. Certified Fairmined gold is tracked and traced through the Fairmined Connect system, which monitors that all purchased Fairmined gold is accounted for from mine to market. The licensed jewellers and wholesalers are required to fill in the Fairmined connect system twice a year or we lose our license.
